The Aspiring Glacier Journey is a great opportunity to capture a close up look at the huge glacial area beneath Mount Aspiring with this unique combination of jet boating, helicopter scenic flight, glaciers and wilderness walk.

Travel by jet boat on the Matukituki River, past Rocky Hill where scenes from Lord of The Rings were filmed, toward Mount Aspiring National Park. Passengers are met from the jet boat by Aspiring Helicopters for a scenic flight into one of our region’s most dramatic areas of ice and snow, the spectacular glaciers that surround Mount Aspiring.

See hanging valleys where glaciers once lay and waterfalls that cascade from under giants of ice into the streams and rivers that feed into the Matukituki River. During this unique New Zealand glacier tour experience a high altitude snow landing overlooking Mount Aspiring and the glaciers that surround her.

Disembark the helicopter for photos before flying down into the Matukituki Valley to join the guided wilderness walk and return leg of the Jet Boat tour.

Allow 4 hours; this includes 25 minutes with the helicopter
